Cookie Policy

sommelia.ch uses cookies and similar storage technologies. This page explains what each one does, who sets it, and how long it persists. You can change your preferences at any time using the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored in your browser. We also use localStorage — a similar mechanism that stores data locally without an expiry date set by a server — for cart state and consent preferences.
Cookieless analytics
To understand overall traffic — how many people visit, which pages they view, and where they come from — we measure every visit anonymously using PostHog in a cookieless mode, alongside our own first-party measurement. In this mode nothing identifying is stored on your device: no cookies, no stored identifiers. A random identifier exists only in your browser's memory for the duration of your visit and is discarded when you leave. Session recordings are never made in this mode. One functional exception: if we show you a short feedback question, your browser remembers locally that you have seen it so we never ask twice — that note contains no identifier and no tracking data.
If you accept analytics cookies, PostHog additionally sets the ph_* cookie listed below so we can recognise return visits and record sessions (with all typed input masked). Declining or withdrawing consent removes these identifiers from your device.

You can also opt out of Google Analytics across all websites via Google's opt-out browser add-on and opt out of Meta personalised advertising via Meta Ad Preferences.
Legal basis
Strictly necessary cookies are processed on the basis of legitimate interest (contract performance and security). Anonymous, cookieless reach measurement stores nothing on your device and is likewise processed on the basis of legitimate interest under the Swiss revised Federal Act on Data Protection (nDSG). Analytics and marketing cookies are processed on the basis of your consent, in accordance with the nDSG and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
