About this wine

The Southern Valleys of Marlborough produce a different wine to the aromatic whites that made the region famous. Cool clay soils, north-facing slopes, and the thermal balance of a long, mild 2023 season gave each block time to reach its full potential before picking. Cloudy Bay's Pinot Noir process is meticulous: optical sorting, open-top fermentation, 21 days skin contact, 100% malolactic fermentation, 11 months in French oak with 30% new. A Pinot Noir built for the table — red fruits, a touch of spice, and a freshness that keeps the wine alive through the meal.

Tasting notes

Clear ruby with fine extraction. Beautifully aromatic and distinctly summery on the nose — strawberry and cherry lead, with a touch of vanilla and toast. On the palate, immediately bright and concentrated: sun-ripened Victoria plums, strawberry and cherry recall fruit-picking on warm days. All freshened and enlivened by a dart of redcurrant acidity. Silky, structured, and complete.
