About this wine

Nebbiolo is Piedmont's most demanding grape — the variety behind Barolo and Barbaresco, wines built for long aging and patient cellaring. The Langhe DOC gives access to the same grape without the weight and the wait: earlier drinking, lighter structure, the same aromatic precision. Boroli's approach is meticulous even at this level: manual harvest, sorting table, cryomaceration for 24–48 hours before fermentation in stainless steel, then several months in oak. The result is a wine of genuine character — red cherry, dried rose, violet, silky tannins — that delivers Nebbiolo's distinctive personality at a Langhe pace.

Tasting notes

Clear garnet with violet hints. The nose is vibrant and floral — red cherry, strawberry, blackcurrant, and fresh-cut flowers create an immediately appealing profile. On the palate, elegant and well-structured with silky tannins and a vibrant, lively energy. A perfect balance between the freshness of the fruit and the persistence of the finish. Classic Nebbiolo character, approachable now.

From the winemaker

100% Nebbiolo from Langhe DOC; manual harvest with sorting table; cryomaceration 24–48 hours; fermentation and maceration in stainless steel; several months oak aging. Boroli family estate, Barolo-focused since 1997.

Editor's note

Barolo is Nebbiolo at its most demanding — structured for decades of aging and not built for Tuesday nights. Boroli's Langhe 1661 takes the same grape and brings it within reach: red cherry, dried rose, violet, silky tannins, and a freshness that Barolo rarely offers in its youth. Manual harvest, cryomaceration, stainless and oak. The Boroli family has been focused on Barolo quality since 1997. This is their entry point. It is a serious wine.
