About this wine
Finca Rodma was founded in 2019, but the vines it works with are not young. The Selección comes from centenary vineyards — vines over 90 years old — in Pedrosa de Duero, on the stretch of Ribera del Duero that runs adjacent to Vega Sicilia. Old vines produce low yields and concentrated fruit; here they bring a depth and textural richness that younger plantings rarely match. Twelve months in a combination of French and American oak gives the wine warmth and structure without overweighting it. Gravity winemaking throughout. A Ribera that earns its place at the table.
Tasting notes
Deep ruby-red with violet tints. The nose is focused and inviting — blackberry and black plum at the fore, with cedar, vanilla and a touch of tobacco adding aromatic complexity. On the palate, full and well-structured with medium tannins, good acidity and a warmth that speaks to the old-vine concentration. A persistent finish with hints of dried herbs and spice. Tempranillo at its most approachable.
