About this wine
Finca Rodma is a young name on the oldest stretch of Ribera del Duero — the so-called 'Golden Mile' between Pedrosa and Vega Sicilia, where Tempranillo (here called Tinto Fino) reaches the kind of depth few corners of Spain can match. The Martín Rodríguez family founded the estate in 2019 and built it with care: a gravity-fed cellar, fully self-sustaining energy, and a refusal to over-engineer the wine. The Selección is their entry point, but the fruit is anything but entry-level — drawn from the same ninety-year-old vines that supply the flagship Avizor, growing on sandy limestone shot through with iron ore at altitudes between 650 and 900 metres. Twelve months in new French and American oak, malolactic in barrel, 10,000 bottles in all.
Tasting notes
Ripe red cherry darkening to garnet at the rim — dense and opaque. The nose is generous and candied: black fruit, sweet spice, a touch of vanilla from the new wood. The palate is full and meaty but open-handed, with velvety tannins and an easy, satisfying warmth. Long, polished, and built for a long Iberian table.
