About this wine
Echo is the second wine of Château Lynch-Bages, the famed Pauillac 5ème Cru Classé that has long been considered one of Bordeaux's most reliable overperformers. Drawn from younger vines and parcels not retained for the grand vin, Echo gives a more immediate, fruit-forward window into the Lynch-Bages style — but with the same attention from the Famille Cazes team and the same Pauillac signature of cassis, cedar and graphite. The 2021 vintage favoured the Left Bank's late-ripening Cabernet, producing a wine that is more classical and chiselled than the warmer recent years.
Tasting notes
Bright, deep ruby. The nose is fragrant and pure — blackcurrant, blueberry, a hint of violet and the cedar-and-pencil-lead lift of fine Pauillac Cabernet. The palate is medium to full-bodied with supple tannins, a juicy core of black fruit, and a refreshing line of acidity that carries the finish. Approachable now with decanting, with a decade of evolution ahead.
Food pairings
Roast leg of lamb, Entrecôte with shallots, Mushroom and truffle dishes, Comté and aged cheeses
