About this wine
Lions de Suduiraut is the dry white made by Château Suduiraut, the 1er Cru Classé Sauternes estate, from a specific plot of fine gravel and sand planted with twenty-year-old Sémillon, Sauvignon Blanc and Sauvignon Gris. Aged for six months — 70% in stainless steel, 30% in barrel — with regular stirring of the fine lees to build texture without weight. A bright, immediately enjoyable dry Bordeaux blanc that shows what Sauternes producers can do when they leave the noble rot behind and chase freshness.
Tasting notes
Pale yellow. The nose opens on white flowers and citrus, evolving with air toward passion fruit and a mineral edge. The palate is round and fresh on attack, with a deliciously aromatic mid-palate of pink pomelo, pear and toasted hazelnut, and a saline, persistent finish. Generous but never heavy.
Food pairings
Goat cheese salad, Pan-seared scallops, Roast chicken with lemon, Aperitif with toasted almonds
Best for
An aperitif that wants to stay for dinner
