About this wine
Château Guiraud is one of eleven First Growths of Sauternes — a title earned by producing some of the finest sweet wines in the world from its sandy-gravel soils around the village of Sauternes. G is its dry white: the estate's Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon grapes vinified without botrytis, delivering freshness, aromatic precision and length. Guiraud has been certified organic since 2011 — the first classified Sauternes château to achieve this — and the commitment to clean farming shows in the clarity of the fruit. The 2024 vintage brought a warm, dry growing season with excellent fruit maturity. Sauvignon Blanc leads with citrus and white fruit; Sémillon adds texture and a waxy roundness that lifts the whole wine beyond a simple aperitif.
Tasting notes
Pale gold with green highlights. The nose is expressive — grapefruit, white peach and lemon zest, with a hint of white blossom and fresh-cut grass. On the palate, dry and well-structured with a firm acidity that drives the wine forward. The Sémillon component gives body and weight without heaviness. Long, clean, citrus-driven finish. Precise and refreshing.

Guiraud is a First Growth Sauternes estate, but G is the other side of the property — dry, precise, organically farmed Sauvignon Blanc with Sémillon. The 2024 shows what happens when a great sweet-wine terroir is turned to dry whites: structure, aromatics, and a length that most Bordeaux Blancs at this price can't touch.
