On every bottle
Every bottle comes with a card
One side tells you what to eat with it and what it tastes like. The other side is empty — write a note and the bottle becomes a present.
The front
What to eat with it
Two dishes that work with this wine, two flavours you'll notice, and the right temperature to pour it. No wine-speak.
The back
Room for your note
Lines for a name, a few words and your signature. Have it sent straight to someone and they get a card you wrote, not a packing slip.
Included with every bottle.

Why it's on our shelf
Sociando-Mallet has spent fifty years proving that the 1855 classification means less than the terroir and the person behind it. Jean Gautreau built this estate into one of the most cellar-worthy Médocs outside the Crus Classés. The 2021 is typical: dense, serious, structured for the long haul. Not for tonight.
