The 2019 Syrah from Finca Aylés is old enough to be interesting and young enough to still improve. 650 metres, extreme continental climate, certified organic farming, ancient clay-limestone soils. Blackberry, violet, black pepper, olive, savoury leather, and a freshness that six-year-old warmer-climate Syrah rarely holds. 91 points from James Suckling. Drinking well now; keep some back.
